The Weekly Raid... REVENGE!!!

Through the portal 10 brave souls entered Eye of Eternity, the den of Malygos. We strive, hungered, and died miserably, but in the end we persevered. It took our little Raid 11 tries to get this right, and through all of that we now know the fight better than anyone.

He owed us gold and we sought payment through blood, guts and sweat, more our own then his...

This is a 10 minute fight no matter which way you slice and dice it consisting of 3 phases. Do some research because we went in there practically blind. We tried over and over, learning the old fashioned way of raiding, moving through at a gradual pace further into the fight. I am so proud of my guild mates for hanging in there with patience and spirit as they all did. It may have cost us more gold then we cared to spend but the end result was priceless. Teamwork and dedication was admirable.

Thank you all: Inglorian (Paladin *tank*), Omegasupreme(Death Knight), Fearus(Druid), Krackin(Warrior), Yaly(Shamman *heals*), Vectance(Druid), Phoenixeve(Priest), Draknol(Hunter), and Texx(Paladin *heals*).

***Take Note: It is a good thing to have at least a Druid or two in your party. You will be in combat the entire 10 minute fight. If you lose a party member there is no way to resurrect him unless you have a Battle Rez (Rebirth), also Druids will come in handy through the Vortex if needed, Rejuvenation and Lifebloom can be cast to party members near the druid for added heals.

Phase One: the Tank and Spank phase.

Malygos descends from the sky as your tank will gain aggro. Power Sparks will appear throughout the fight along with Maylgos slapping you in a vortex. Malygos does NOT have a tail swipe, so standing behind him will not be an issue, but let’s start with the Power Sparks. All of your melee DPS should stay on Malygos, it is too much of a pain in the dragon scaled rear to have melee chasing down sparks when Range DPS can suffice. Try to get down a spark as close to your party as possible, standing in the spark will activate a buff increasing damage by 50% which is great for any Range to attack, if you can get it close to melee even better. Communicate with your tank if Malygos needs to be moved so more party members can receive the buff make sure you know where to tell him to him move to. The buff will stack! Vortex is a healer intensive move, everyone is swooped up into the air (sometimes you can still do range attacks so watch for that) and you get pummeled until he drops you to the ground. Our healers were great and before he did the move everyone was near if not at full health. Once down on the ground rinse and repeat.

Note: You should not go through more than 3 Vortex; this is just a timing issue. Any more than 3 will put you at jeopardy at the end phase. After 10 minutes Malygos goes into Berserk and it is not pretty. Phase one should be done in no longer than 3:30 to 4:00 minutes.

Phase Two: Flying Disc Phase. (Malygos at 50% Health)

While transitioning into Phase Two do not stop doing range attacks. Malygos will hover while he speaks and it is the perfect time to continue with range attacks to knock some more HP off. He will then fly up further out of range and Nexus Lords will fly down on disc. You want to DPS them down as fast as possible to get onto a disc and get your Ranged people in the air. My personal belief is that your range will not have to move around as much to attack the Scions of Eternity floating in the air (Your biggest Range DPS should go on first disc). Having to constantly adjust for melee can prove to be difficult if you do not know what you’re doing. So have range go up first, shoot down more disc for people to hop on, Phase 3 will start when all Lords and Scions are dead. However during Phase Two there will be Power Overloads which will spawn anti magic shields which any party members on the ground will want to get in. It reduces the damage from Malygos Arcane Storm and Deep Breath attacks by 50%. Hopefully you will have Deadly Boss Mods for their countdown to Deep Breath. If any of your party members are outside of the shields while this occurs they will die.

Phase Three: Red Dragon flight Phase: (You should have at least 3:30 to 4:00 minutes left to the fight.)

The ground will shatter and the dragons of the Red Dragon flight will come to aid. Get familiar with your abilities quickly, they are like Rogue abilities that work off of Combo Points and Energy, and it is a good idea to pass out rolls for this phase beforehand. We went with a 50/50 Heal/DPS combination. Your healers are no longer responsible for you, so delegate 5 people of your party for heals while the other 5 do damage. No matter what you are heals or DPS you must keep 1/4 of your energy bar incase Malygos gazes on you to do his Surge of Power. This 1/4 of a bar will allow you to get 1 Combo Point and hit your #5 key to Shield yourself. Also keep stacked together in a group this will help heals. Your healers will spam #1 until Combo Points are acquired then press #4 for the AOE heal which will heal everyone around you *Watch your energy bar for the 1/4 you will need for your shield*. Your DPS will hit #1 (3) times then follow with #2. This will get tons of stacks of damage onto Malygos to knock him down quickly.

*This is just a recount of what my particular party has experienced, it will defer based on damage, experience level, and gear. I know that there are a million ways to do one thing, and if you have a better one more power to you. Best wishes and happy raiding.*
