Dancing in the Dark. (Rogue vs. Rogue)

Embersilk sheets draped just over her hips, her violet hued skin shown in contrast against the threads, the last rays of the sun sending streaks through the open window setting into dusk. The skyline of Stormwind darkening as the night conquered the day and the trees rustled to the rhythm of the wind.

Slowly the sharpened tip of a blade started from her upper thigh moving along to the curve of her hip and towards her shoulder. Catt’s breath caught for a moment in her throat and alarm coursed through her body. Her fingers found the leather wrapped handle of her axe under her down moonkin pillow. Gripping the silken sheets along with her axe she tumbled out of bed and into a low defensive crouch against the wall feeling the cool stone press into her back.

“Show yourself!” she demanded.

A haunting laughter carried throughout her bed chamber. “And what fun would that be?” the intruder asked.

His voice sent a jolt down her spine, completely unfamiliar but not entirely unpleasant. Her eyes strained to see in the shadows creeping into the room. The lanterns had yet to be lit in the cobblestone streets. Catt stood silent for a moment unable to hear any shift in atmosphere.

“I’ll show you the fun it will be for me when my axe finds the center of your heart.” Catt rose to her feet wrapping the embersilk around tight and tying it off “What will you?”

A slight sound of a phase and her axe planted in the wall across the room. ‘Damn a miss!’ Catt edged over to the bed to retrieve her dagger hidden in the lining of the mattress. One of many concealed.

“So it is a Night Elf or another Rogue that has invaded my domain.”

“Tisk, tisk.” The shadow spoke. “Not looking for this are you?” Her favorite dagger appeared dropping to the floor, the sharpened point protruding the soft wood.

Frustrated “What will you stalker!?”

“What would you like?” he answered.

“I would like to know who trespasses in a Rogues territory and thinks he shall live intact!”

“Just a mouse for the Catt to play.” He mused.

‘Riddles!’ Catt thought. ‘I hate riddles.’

“ENOUGH!” Catt proclaimed dropping the embersilk sheets and vanishing. There would be only a few seconds that she could move in complete invisibility. She traced the outer edges of her chamber , past shelves of trinkets and other baubles catching a glimpse of a phase.

There he was, her eyes focused, he was slightly crouched and barely moving. Catt slid behind him reaching in her armoire for her spare dagger. A double atheme of ornate true gold she lifted from a statesman a fortnight past. She held the dual points softly an inch from her stalker. And inch from his kidneys.

“Very interesting little kitty. Where could you have gone in such a short time?” Catt did not answer but stood deathly still breathing in the scent of him.

“Cattallie…” the voice trailed over her name as if it was a lover’s call.

His breathing increased and she saw his body move with it. Inching ever closer to the tip of her blade.

Catt touched the tip to his back and froze; one shot was all it would take but her curiosity won the battle. “I’ll only repeat this once little toy. Who are you and what will you?”

“I am no one m’lady. I sought only to view you as you slept as I have many moons before. This time I just happened to act on it is all.” She felt him grin through the darkness.

Catt pressed the blade further digging it into his skin, her unarmed hand tracing a finger down the middle of his muscular back. “How long have you been watching me stalker?”

“Long enough for you not to take notice,” The casual tone unnerved her, “long enough to understand you more.”

Catt’s mind scanned the past few weeks when she could have sworn she had been watched. She envisioned times in back alley ways as she picked the occasional lock box for gold or when she returned home from a contracted kill. She had dismissed it as just a chill in the already cool early spring air.

“And what do you seek to gain from this intrusion?”

“Only a glimpse.” He said slyly, his breathing becoming more ragged and Catt realized she had inched the dragger into his back, she slowly extracted it but never dropping her guard.

“Turn around.”She commanded. He obliged as he turned, her unarmed hand felt his broad shoulders as he did so and came around to his chest. His only piece of armor was a vest of strong black dragon scale aside from his matching leather pants.

Her breath caught as he grabbed her unarmed hand by her wrist and held it softly moving it to his waist and stepping closer into her guard, never breaking stealth.

“Shadow dancer I see.”

“Only for you.” He breathed. She could feel him bend down and his lips found her neck, while her blade found his.

“How dare…” His lips incased hers and her blades edge cutting in. Lips moving, body trembling as his hand found her blade fighting her for control. She phased from her seclusion and he remained unseen, his hands sliding down her sides, curving her hips and down her thighs, his mouth following their trail. Her head tilted back as she moaned softly.

Rogues do it better in stealth.
